Summary: In this work the rheology of cyclopentane hydrate masses was studied. A fluid model was developed with; water, cyclopentane and oil, emulsified with Span 80 and AOT. The quality of the emulsion and its ability to form hydrate crystals were visualized using microscopy. Emulsion used to form cyclopentane hydrate masses. As cyclopentane hydrate masses were used in rotary rheology tests with 30% and 40% water volume procedures. The rheological testicles were; flow curves with stress control and with shear rate control, loop curves and oscillatory tests with stress sweep, strain and frequency sweep. A large number of flow curves were made to identify the material yield stress, curves with shear stress as a function of low shear rates (10-4s-1), stress ramps as a function of material deformation and, in finally, the oscillatory testes with G` and G``. The viscoelasticity of the material was also observed through flow curves that had an increase in time to enter into steady state, then with loop curves (going back) to identify a fluid capacity to restructure. In the end, with the best procedures, a high yield limit was observed for all masses, with a degree of elasticity and partial speciality. For how limit stresses that were found in the Herschel-Bulkley model fit the data better, while G ’ and G’ ’ behaved as a viscoelastic solid as in the Kelvin-Voig model.
