Summary: The present work aims to discuss the results obtained from the tests rheological properties of samples of tetrahydrofuran hydrates with molar concentrations above of saturation (1:17). The methodological procedures were also part of the results preliminary results, in view of the influence of the THF hydrates nucleation method in the rheological characteristics of the samples tested. The procedures used to induce the formation of THF hydrates were mechanical disturbance and subcooling, being the latter responsible for experimental results with a higher degree of repeatability. At mass concentrations of THF equal to 30, 35 and 40% were used in tests of deformation in the rheometer, using vane geometry. The increase in concentration of tetrahydrofuran in the sample showed a correlation in the reduction of the limit stress of flow and shear modulus. The mass concentration THF samples equal to 40% were subjected to flow curves, which were observed tuning fluid characteristics and viscoplasticity. The main factors influencing the rheological characteristics of the hydrates were the mass concentration of THF, the shear during the formation of hydrate crystals, the subcooling temperature and the rest interval after the crystal nucleation protocol.
